Aston Villa and Real Sociedad are reportedly entering into a competitive race to secure the signature of Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney.

According to a recent report from Football Transfers, there is speculation that Arsenal might consider a permanent departure for the 26-year-old Scotland international at the conclusion of the season.

Initially sent on a season-long loan to La Liga by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Tierney found himself further down the pecking order after the acquisition of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.

Despite this, Tierney has garnered interest due to his impressive performances during the first six months in Spain.

Aston Villa, led by manager Unai Emery, who played a pivotal role in bringing Tierney to the Premier League from Celtic in 2019, has emerged as a potential destination. Emery, keen to reunite with the talented full-back, is reportedly preparing a bid at the end of the season.

The potential departure of Lucas Digne, who has played a crucial role this season, is linked to a lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Pro League.

In the event of Digne’s move materializing, Tierney is expected to step in as his replacement, adding depth and quality to Villa’s defensive lineup. The reported competition with Real Sociedad further adds intrigue to Tierney’s potential summer transfer.
