“He Is A Stunning Player” – Arsenal In Contact With The £24m Winger Who Could Have Easily Played For Real Madrid

According to GIVEMESPORT journalist Pete O’Rourke, Arsenal is likely monitoring Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, but he is unlikely to be a priority for the club.

As his contract expires, the 30-year-old has been linked with both Arsenal and their London rivals Chelsea.

According to TalkSPORT, Zaha, who is now valued at around £24 million by Transfermarkt but will be a free agent in the summer, has been linked with a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea.

It’s anyone’s guess whether the Ivorian will make a big move in the next transfer window. Former Palace chairman Simon Jordan, on the other hand, believes the player may have played for Real Madrid.

What’s the problem?

“I believe Wilfried Zaha would have been a good fit for Real Madrid.” Jordan said on talkSPORT, “He’s that good.”

“He’s really good. He might have. Who has influenced his career? Maybe he’d have gotten better opportunities if he hadn’t had some vile individual like Kia Joorabchian rolling him around and pushing him everywhere,” he added.

O’Rourke believes Arsenal and Chelsea are unlikely to make Zaha their top transfer target right now. But he believes they are at least thinking about him.

“If those clubs are looking at him, I don’t think he’s top of their priority list,” the journalist told GIVEMESPORT. But, as a free agent, I’m sure he’s on the radar because signing a player like Zaha as a free agent would only strengthen your squad and everything else.”

Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery confirmed to The Guardian a few years ago that the club had attempted to sign Zaha. A lot has happened in the Emirates since then. However, if Mikel Arteta is looking to bring in a winger this summer, the Ivorian international should be at the top of his list.

With 14 goals in 33 Premier League games, he is a top-tier wide forward. He also had the highest success rate of any Palace player, with 2.3 dribbles per game (via WhoScored).

Leandro Trossard, 28, has recently joined Arsenal. He made an immediate impact in the Emirates and has aided his club’s championship push. According to Transfermarkt, the Belgian has already contributed to six goals for the Gunners in the Premier League. If Zaha relocates to north London this summer, he could have a similar impact.
