‘Suddenly’: Oleksandr Zinchenko calls Arsenal teammate ‘secret agent’ after helping organise £32m transfer

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been a revelation for Arsenal since joining from Manchester City.

At Arsenal, the Ukrainian is regarded as one of the group’s leaders. He has ensured that Mikel Arteta’s style of play can be adopted by playing as a left-back.

And, in an episode of Footballer’s Lives, Zinchenko disclosed how another former City player, Gabriel Jesus, assisted with the decision.

Zinchenko claims Gabriel Jesus showed up at his house to finalize the Arsenal transfer.
Of course, The Gunners secured the signing of Jesus in early July 2022. The Brazilian completed his transfer to the Emirates with the intention of becoming the key man at number nine.

Zinchenko would follow a few weeks later, and the left-footer stated on the Footballer’s Lives show that Jesus actually showed up to assist close the deal.

“Mikel and the general director came to my residence. We were seated on the porch. “And then someone rings my doorbell, and I say I have to go in case it’s a delivery or someone else,” Zinchenko explained.

“And there was only Gabriel Jesus standing behind my gate.” So the secret agent arrived at my place, and we all had a fantastic talk. It was quite positive.”

Since Jesus and Zinchenko came, it’s been evident that both have had a significant impact on the proceedings.

Obviously, Jesus spotted the opportunity with Zinchenko and wanted to make sure it was taken advantage of.

Two leaders

It’s been widely reported how much Jesus and Zinchenko have influenced things since joining the Gunners.

This Zinchenko incident demonstrates how soon Gabriel Jesus relaxed and thought he could have some effect on events.

The objective now for both Zinchenko and Jesus is to turn these great stories into winning ones. They ultimately fell short last season, and this needs to change.
