Last night, Seb Ferdinand made a memorable EFL Trophy debut for Arsenal against Exeter City, coming off the bench.

The 17-year-old celebrated a great outing against the League One club on social media.

Arsenal Under-21 boss Mehmet Ali would have been pleased with his team’s performance after halftime last night.

They were tied at the halftime with Exeter before storming past the third-tier team in the second half.

Five unanswered goals gave Arsenal their first win of the season in the tournament despite the absence of Ethan Nwaneri.

Charles Sagoe Jr. opened the scoring after an hour, fresh from his first-team debut last month.

Arsenal defeated Exeter with four goals in the final 11 minutes, with Ferdinand netting a wonderful brace.

In the 69th minute, the 17-year-old came on for Harrison Dudziak and had an immediate impact.

Ferdinand has already taken part in first-team training this season and is having a successful season at Arsenal.

Ferdinand took to Instagram after scoring a rapid brace and assisting Khayon Edwards.

Ferdinand wrote with photos of himself celebrating with his teammates, “EFL Trophy debut, 2 goals 1 assist.”

“Instant Impact!” said teammate Charles Sagoe Jr., while Myles Lewis-Skelly praised his play.

Arsenal has always had one of the strongest academies in the country with a recent track record of producing some very exceptional young players.

Bukayo Saka is an obvious example, but Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah have both played consistently this season.

Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, for example, are both highly regarded.

After his cameo against Exeter, Ferdinand might be added to the list of Arsenal teenagers hoping to break into the first team.

Arsenal’s Under-21s are now in a strong position to advance to the next round of the EFL Trophy.

They’ve already jumped ahead of Swindon Town and last night’s opponents by four points.
