Transfer News

‘Convince Him to Join Arsenal,’ says Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, pleading with Gabriel Martinelli to persuade his £40 million Brazilian colleague to join the club by JANUARY.

According to the Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, Arsenal has made contact with Gremio wonderkid Gabriel Mec’s representatives.

The Gunners were extensively linked with a bid for Gremio midfielder Bitello during the previous transfer window, but no formal offer was made.

The judgment was justified since he would not have acquired a UK work permit if he had not represented Brazil at any level in a big competition.

Bitello could be on his way to Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, but it appears the Gunners are interested in another young Gremio player.

Gremio just signed an image license agreement with Gabriel Mec, 15, and he is likely to acquire a professional contract at the age of 16.

Arsenal have seen his enormous potential, and Globo reports that they have made an early enquiry about a possible transfer for him in the future.

The wonderkid will not be permitted to travel to Europe until the age of 18. If the Gunners sign him, he will not join the club until June 2026.

Arsenal is looking for the next big Brazilian talent.
Gabriel Martinelli joined Arsenal four years ago from Brazilian fourth-tier team Ituano, and he has since blossomed into one of the world’s most sought-after wingers.

Martinelli’s success should inspire the Gunners to sign more Brazilian players. Marquinhos joined the club last summer, but he is presently on loan with Nantes.

The former Sao Paulo winger scored and assisted on his Arsenal debut, but his involvement was limited after that. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to redeem himself.

Gabriel Mec, on the other hand, is an offensive midfielder who can also play out wide. At the young level, he was a tremendous hit, impressing with his pace and dribbling ability.

He will turn 16 in April of next year and is close to making his senior debut for Gremio. Arsenal may choose to sign him on a pre-contract basis.
