‘EXCITING NEWS’ “He will play against Sevilla even if he is given painkillers………..,” – Arteta set to put players’ fitness at risk amidst aim for quick Champions League qualification

Takehiro Tomiyasu has said that he is back in excellent form for Arsenal after missing practically the entire season due to injury.

Tomiyasu was asked about his injury status during Arsenal’s press conference alongside Mikel Arteta ahead of their match against Sevilla.

Because of his injury issues, the Japan international stated that last season was the most difficult of his career.

Of course, Tomiyasu had knee surgery after suffering an injury during Arsenal’s crucial run-in.

Tomiyasu told football.london, “I’m feeling very well.” Injuries have plagued me, particularly last season. Last season was the most difficult of my career.”

And Mikel Arteta will be relieved to have Tomiyasu back in his Arsenal squad, injury-free.

Tomiyasu has recently taken over as the inverted full-back on the left, replacing Oleksandr Zinchenko.

And, while he lacks the Ukrainian’s ball-playing talent, he is proving to be a more dependable defensive presence.

After a lengthy knee ailment, Tomiyasu now feels totally healthy for Arsenal.

Since signing for £16 million a year ago, Arsenal has greatly benefited from Tomiyasu’s versatility.

And, at only 25 years old, Arteta must believe that the Japanese defender can still make significant progress.

The presence of Tomiyasu at left-back has fueled speculation that Zinchenko is now best suited for a midfield role.

Arsenal is having difficulty filling the number eight position, as none of their available candidates have secured the position.

And, considering Zinchenko’s skill set, Arteta could regain some much-needed inventiveness.

Having Tomiyasu fully recovered from his injury is a huge help for Arsenal and Arteta, given all of the alternatives he now provides.

Tomiyasu may be filling the role that Jurrien Timber was envisioned for before his unfortunate injury.

And, despite being a new addition, it should not be emphasized how much Arsenal misses Timber.

Amario Cozier-Duberry is back in training with the senior team ahead of tonight’s game, which is excellent news.
