“He was out of position already and i tried to dribble him out of the line before scoring another goal”- Arsenal Player Leandro Trossard recalls the’magical’ moment that propelled him to stardom against Burnley yesterday.

The crisis has been averted. Or perhaps Arsenal was simply trying to stay awake.
While they flirted with relegation after allowing a clumsy equalizer and even managed to conclude a lukewarm game with 10 men, Mikel Arteta’s team returned to winning ways in the league after finding Burnley unable to handle anything more threatening than high balls into the box.
After last weekend’s battle with Newcastle, it was fairly sedate with James Trafford flailing at corners and Burnley’s defenders even losing aerial duels with Bukayo Saka.
Even Arteta, who was furious at the authorities after that defeat, could be lighthearted when discussing Fábio Vieira being sent off for a horrible foul on Josh Brownhill. “VAR was right,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stated, sarcastically. “The referee was correct.” Mikel’s response was really positive. Excellent decision.”
Arteta, who was missing seven injured players, was pleased with the result, which brought his team level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
Ignoring another lackluster performance from Kai Havertz, Arsenal could focus on Leandro Trossard’s selflessness, their threat at set-pieces, and their reluctance to panic after Burnley equalized through Brownhill.
“I believe he links everyone. Trossard is quite intelligent, according to Arteta. “I believe he moves in ways that attract people and create spaces and options for them.”
“He did that really well today because it was so difficult and the spaces to attack were so small.” He provided us with several threats and opportunities to connect and find spaces for us.
“He puts his body on the line if necessary, and that was the end of it.” It’s the 1,000th goal at the Emirates, which is a lovely number.
“I’m quite pleased with him. I believe that anywhere you ask him to play, whether wide or as a nine, everything flows and he is a great threat. So I’m quite pleased with him.”
Vincent Kompany was disappointed that Burnley, who remain in 19th place, were not swept away by dazzling passing. They could have gained momentum after canceling out Trossard’s opener, but their defense remains much too immature.
Arsenal regained the lead when Trafford’s sloppy goalkeeping allowed William Saliba to head in Trossard’s corner, and the points were secured when another delivery from the Belgian ended with Oleksandr Zinchenko punishing even more sloppy defending. “The narrative on this game will be set-pieces,” Kompany remarked.
“For us, it’s about determining whether we had moments and momentum.” It was a mature and disciplined performance. But the disappointment and timing of the goals will sharpen us.”
Arsenal took some time to get into their stride against opponents whose enthusiasm couldn’t hide a dearth of quality in both boxes. Arteta’s team was quiet at first, and it cost them in the eighth minute. David Raya, on the other hand, was alert and flying to his left to save Zeki Amdouni’s effort.
Arsenal were drowsy. They missed Martin Odegaard’s persistent passing, while Burnley initially succeeded in limiting Saka’s influence. Saka, who had been declared fit after limping off during Sevilla’s midweek win, struggled to get on the ball at initially.
Saka, dissatisfied with Arsenal’s ineffective passing, vented his rage with Arsenal’s first shot on target. Havertz, who was lacking in conviction yet again, appeared distressed after missing a good headed chance.
It’s still not happening for the German, who halted a good counter-attack with a weak pass later on. Trossard got his shot off, but Arsenal were not having it easy. They could have trailed after Johann Berg Gudmundsson capitalized on Saliba’s blunder, but Raya saved them.
Arsenal started pinning Burnley back. When Saka nodded Zinchenko’s ball across goal, Trossard, who was filling in for Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah on the bench, beat Trafford with a courageous header. Burnley could only wonder how they had lost the ball in the air to two of the game’s smallest players.
Arsenal often sought to exploit this flaw, with Trafford curiously hesitant to come off his line and claim crosses.
The tactic worked so well that Arsenal scored again after Burnley equalized. It was a straightforward method of avoiding a drama. Arsenal had threatened to bring it on themselves by bringing on Burnley early in the second half.
After a VAR review, Luca Koleosho’s challenge on Takehiro Tomiyasu went unpunished, and Brownhill’s shot went in off Gabriel Magalhes.
Is it time for a meltdown? Not exactly. Gabriel Martinelli broke down the left and tested Trafford right away. Trafford flapped from Trossard’s corner, and Saliba scored from a yard away. Arsenal tightened their grip as Trossard’s corner resulted in Zinchenko sending a calm shot past Trafford. Vieira’s late red card just added to the intensity.
