Arsenal team news: Predicted XI vs. Burnley as Arteta decides on Saka and Odegaard
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faces a selection quandary ahead of today’s Premier League encounter against Burnley (3pm).

When Arsenal hosts Burnley this afternoon, they will be seeking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League. Due to additional injury concerns, Mikel Arteta has a little squad to choose from. Express Sport examines the team he is set to name at the Emirates.

Goalkeeper – Raya

David Raya will remain in goal while Aaron Ramsdale observes from the sidelines. Raya was mostly untroubled in midweek against Sevilla and hasn’t conceded in his last three home games.

Ramsdale will be pleased to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s England team. However, whether Southgate will continue to select him if he does not reclaim his club status remains to be seen.

Defence – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko

Takehiro Tomiyasu was injured at halftime of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Sevilla. Arteta stated that the Japan star felt uneasy in the first half and that they were unwilling to risk him.

At left-back, Oleksandr Zinchenko is the obvious replacement. Ben White has had a hard workload this season, starting every league games.

However, he has been snubbed yet again by Southgate and will take a break in the coming weeks. Gabriel will be partnered in the middle of the defense by William Saliba.

Midfield – Jorginho, Havertz, Rice

Martin Odegard has not started any of Arsenal’s past four games in three different competitions. If he is not totally healthy, the Norwegian star is unlikely to be risked from the outset.

As a result, Kai Havertz could retain his spot in Odegaard’s post. In midweek, Arteta was thrilled with the German after he came close to scoring on a couple of times.

Jorginho and Declan Rice will almost certainly return to the starting lineup in midfield. Thomas Partey is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Emile Smith Rowe is out with a knee injury.

Attack – Saka, Trossard, Martinelli

Bukayo Saka limped off the field on Wednesday after being fouled repeatedly by his Spanish opponents. However, it was simply an impact injury, so he should be able to play today.

Leandro Trossard capitalized on his opportunity by opening the score against Sevilla. As a result, he could preserve his No. 9 spot.

With Eddie Nketiah out with an injury and Gabriel Jesus out with a hamstring ailment, Arteta may be forced to make that decision. Gabriel Martinelli plays on the left side of the offense.

Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Havertz, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli are all set to start against Burnley.
