The way Declan Rice, an Arsenal midfielder, played against Scotland last night left Joe Cole quite impressed.

During the half, the Chelsea veteran gave special recognition to Rice in an interview with Channel 4 Sport.

Last night in Scotland, Jude Bellingham had a more advanced role in midfield beside the 24-year-old, who was joined by Kalvin Phillips.

Joe Cole was thrilled with Rice and Phillips as well, but Bellingham stole the show with a brilliant display in midfield.

Rice’s most recent England performance astounded Cole.

During the game last night, Cole spoke on how well Rice played in the middle of the field.

“In my opinion, Rice and Phillips have excelled in the midfield,” the analyst stated.

He went on, “I don’t think this England team has had many better first-half performances under Gareth.”

After a few years, Rice has established himself as a key member of England’s squad, and he played the entire 90 minutes last night.
