“I don’t like to talk about Arsenal, but I must say this, the way Arsenal is treating my countryman is not right”- Newcastle striker Callum Wilson admits his £30 million Arsenal countryman is very upset and frustrated with Mikel Arteta- Not Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, or Trossard.
‘Of sure,’ says Callum Wilson, who believes the £30 million Arsenal player is furious right now.
Callum Wilson feels Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsdale is dissatisfied with Mikel Arteta’s recent treatment.
Until roughly a month ago, the Englishman was the Gunners’ unquestioned number one. He hadn’t done anything particularly wrong, but Arteta chose to replace him with David Raya. That hasn’t worked, but the Arsenal manager is sticking with his colleague.
Aaron Ramsdale, according to Callum Wilson, will be furious.
Aaron Ramsdale has been one of the greatest goalkeepers in the Premier League since joining Arsenal in 2021 for £30 million (Sky Sports).
The Englishman took over for Bernd Leno and never looked back. He was superb last season, earning a spot in the Premier League Team of the Season.
Many people were surprised when Arsenal signed David Raya during the summer transfer window. This has only grown since the Brentford loanee took over for Ramsdale last month.
Even if the Spanish goalkeeper is making numerous errors and drawing a lot of criticism, Mikel Arteta is unwilling to let him go, which has left many Arsenal fans dissatisfied.
Callum Wilson, Ramsdale’s England teammate, believes the Arsenal number one, who was on the bench in Seville last night, is furious right now.
“Surely he (Ramsdale) will lose faith when the other person isn’t playing as well as they should be and you’re still not getting an opportunity,” the Newcastle United striker remarked on the Footballer’s Football Podcast.
“You’re wondering, ‘What’s going on here?!'” Basically, someone has arrived, the management wishes to examine them, and that is great. It’s not a problem if they’re doing well.
“But you paid a lot of money for me in the first place.” What do you do if someone makes a mistake and you still don’t get in?”
Wilson was then questioned if Ramsdale was ‘fuming’ at the moment. “Of course!” he said.
David Raya must be dropped by Arteta.
David Raya started for Arsenal against Sevilla yesterday night and was once again underwhelming.
The Spaniard made a mess of a number of passes in the first half, which could have cost the Gunners the game. He then came dangerously close to conceding what would have been a comedic goal right at the conclusion of the game, when Arsenal was frantically clinging to their advantage.
with bringing Raya to the club, Arteta was correct to give him opportunity, but with all of the mistakes recently, it’s time for the Arsenal manager to make the hard choice – dismiss the Spaniard and bring Ramsdale back.
However, if the last few weeks are any indication, Arteta will remain with Raya, which, in our opinion, will push Ramsdale closer to leaving Arsenal.
