Real Madrid and Barcelona are keeping tabs on the €75 million-rated Arsenal attacker.
According to AS (via ESPN), Real Madrid is interested in Arsenal attacker Gabriel Jesus. The Merengues are keeping a close eye on the player’s performance and regard him as a potential forward line reinforcement.
They are not, however, alone in the race. Barcelona are also interested in signing the versatile Brazilian forward, making it a fascinating race.
Exploding beneath Arteta
The 26-year-old Brazilian attacker joined Arsenal last year for a whopping €52 million. He scored 11 goals for Mikel Arteta’s side in the Premier League last season and has continued his outstanding form in the new season.
In four league starts this season, Jesus has only scored one goal for Arsenal. However, in the UEFA Champions League, he has been the team’s focal point in attack.
The 26-year-old has three goals and one assist in three European appearances for the men in red. In addition, he has made two major plays and averages 1.3 critical passes per game.
He was the hero in Arsenal’s 2-1 UCL win over Sevilla, scoring one goal and contributing one assist on the night.
Ancelotti has a versatile choice.
The departure of Karim Benzema has left a hole in Real Madrid’s No. 9 position, which has contributed to the team’s relative shortcomings in the final third.
