Kris Boyd, former Rangers striker and Sky Sports pundit, has shared his insights on the future of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. According to Boyd, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is expected to part ways with Ramsdale, favoring David Raya as the current number one goalkeeper for the team.

Boyd emphasized that Ramsdale, being an England international with considerable quality, should not be content sitting on the bench. While Raya is currently on loan from Brentford, there are speculations that Arsenal might make the loan deal permanent.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Boyd expressed his opinion: “It looks like Ramsdale is going to be moved on anyway, for me. He played for England not so long ago; you can’t be sitting on the bench. If you are an England international, you can’t be sitting on the bench. And there is no doubt that David Raya is Arsenal’s number one at this moment in time.”

Boyd suggests that Aaron Ramsdale should carefully evaluate his future at Arsenal. Although he doesn’t insist on an immediate departure in the January transfer window, he believes Ramsdale should explore his options. Highlighting Ramsdale’s prowess as a goalkeeper demonstrated at a top club like Arsenal, Boyd speculates that the £24 million-rated star (source: The Athletic) could potentially find a place in the starting lineup of another established Premier League team.

Boyd points out that Newcastle United, currently in need of a top goalkeeper due to Nick Pope’s long-term injury, could be an appealing destination for Ramsdale, offering him a chance to secure a starting role under manager Eddie Howe.
