‘I tried possible best to convince Him to join Man City but He choose Arsenal’: Man city Star Rodri confirmed His £40m Spanish teammate have pledged to join Arsenal over Man city by January

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal has deployed scouts to track Girona’s left-back Miguel Gutiérrez, who is also being pursued by many European clubs.

The Gunners have been interested in the 22-year-old since he made his Real Madrid debut in 2021. According to Romano, the Gunners have deployed scouts to watch 2001-born prodigy who is under contract with Girona until 2027 in recent weeks.

Although no other possible suitors for the defender have been identified, it is widely assumed that Madrid is interested in the full-back.

Gutiérrez rose through the levels of Real Madrid’s academy before joining Girona for €4 million in 2022. The Spanish giants have a 50% sell-on clause in his contract, but with Fran Garcia and a probable sale of Alphonso Davies, a move for Guttierez is unlikely.

Girona would realistically want to keep the Spaniard until the summer, but a large bid in January could force the Catalan club to move him.

Is there a new left-back?

The Gunners are considering their left-back alternatives after sanctioning a loan move for Kierney to Real Sociedad over the summer.

Despite a good run in the French League with Olympique Marseille, Nuno Tavares joined Nottingham Forest on a loan deal with a buy option, leaving Oleksandr Zinchenko as the only identifiable left back in the side.

Gutierrez’s standout performances for Girona, who now lead La Liga, have piqued the interest of scouts, with the Spaniard contributing one assist in 12 appearances across competitions. In Girona’s unexpected rise, the full-back has demonstrated exceptional offensive and defensive abilities.

The 22-year-old has made 46 appearances for Girona, and his remarkable performances have drawn substantial interest, with Arsenal keeping a close eye on his development.

Gutierrez is one of Europe’s greatest inverted fullbacks, which is critical to Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach, which prefers fullbacks who can invert into midfield and act as a conduit for smooth transitions between defense and offense.
