Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is expected to return to the starting lineup for tomorrow’s Premier League away match against Newcastle United.

The Norwegian striker has five goals for the Gunners this season, one of which came in a 2-1 loss to West Ham United on Wednesday night.

Odegaard came on as a substitute in the final 10 minutes and had a lively cameo, scoring with the final kick of the Carabao Cup fourth round clash.

The Gunners were eliminated from the competition after a 3-1 defeat, but Odegaard should be recalled to the starting XI at St James’ Park.

In the 5-0 win over Sheffield United, manager Mikel Arteta decided to rest the captain, but many were startled to see him on the bench again.

Fabio Vieira started in place of the injured Emile Smith Rowe, although he was mainly unsuccessful until his stoppage time assist for Odegaard’s goal.

Odegaard, in our opinion, should be reinstated to the starting XI. Odegaard achieved a 94% passing accuracy and won 100% of his duels during his brief appearance.

The 24-year-old also won one tackle and was ready to make a statement. Along with him, we expect Jorginho to replace Kai Havertz in the starting lineup.

In the derby, Havertz had one golden chance to score on a header but was rarely involved after the break. Declan Rice is expected to start in the creative midfield role tomorrow.
