When commenting on the game, BBC Sport pundit Patrick Vierra mentioned how happy the Gunners bench was to witness Tomiyasu’s maiden goal for the club.

Tomiyasu was also a bright spark for Arsenal, nearly getting himself an assist with a superb move to the byline.
The Japanese international has been an excellent addition to the Gunners squad. He was vital in his rookie season, but an injury kept him out for much of the second half.
Tomiyasu also had bad luck last season, with knee surgery keeping him out for much of the second half of the season.
Even though he’s no longer a regular starter, his attitude and contributions to the pitching staff remain outstanding.
