Arsenal tore Sevilla apart along the right wing with Bukayo Saka back in form during an easy 2-0 Champions League win, according to Sevilla coach Diego Alonso.
The expression ‘form is temporary’ comes to mind.
Bukayo Saka proved that his class is permanent as he extended Arsenal’s advantage on the night after setting up Leandro Trossard’s well-worked first-half opening.
After going four games without a goal or an assist, the England international was at his best against a Sevilla side that, in Alonso’s words, was ‘overwhelmed’ by the pace, intensity, and quality of an Arsenal side that was four points clear at the top of Group B and one step away from the knockout stage.

“We were completely overwhelmed. Arsenal are a wonderful squad, and we couldn’t compete,” Alonso, whose Europa League specialists may soon return to their old haunts, says Movistar Plus.
“We didn’t have possession of the ball. They outmatched us one on one, particularly on our left side.
“We were completely overwhelmed. We were unable to carry out our plans, and I am sorry but I cannot blame the players because they competed. (Arsenal) were superior.”
Arsenal now only needs one win from their next two games to advance to the next round. Meanwhile, the most assured and commanding of victories was a pleasant relief after the disputed defeats to Newcastle United and West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
Saka’s teammate Gabriel Martinelli was also impressive on the night, with Declan Rice thankful he only has to face the dazzling duo on the training pitch.
The Champions League is on a roll.
“I think tonight was massive for them, for their confidence,” Rice tells Arsenal’s official website. “I think they were frightening one on one.” They drove at the full-backs whenever they had a one-on-one with them. I wouldn’t want to be the receiving end of that to be honest with you!
“They were both enthralling.
“We were very good, high energy, full gas from the start.” We didn’t give (Sevilla) a chance to breathe. They just had one shot the entire game. It was just a pretty solid effort all around, especially with them sitting really deep and playing a back five, which is always difficult to break down.
“But, once we did it, it was a very good performance.”
