Barcelona is apparently interested in signing two players, according to the Spanish sports daily Mundo Deportivo.
Despite the rumours, both players look to be firmly in the North London club’s plans.
Jorginho, the Italian international, has had his playing time at Arsenal curtailed this season as a result of the addition of Declan Rice.
However, he and his agent have both stated unequivocally that a move away from the Emirates Stadium is not in the cards. His contract expires in 2024, but Arsenal has a one-year extension option.
Meanwhile, Kai Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a high-profile trade, has had a difficult start to his stay in North London.
Regardless, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes in the German playmaker. Arteta remarked in a recent press conference that he wants to “try to help him as much as possible.”
Be there for him, give him the tools, the confidence, and the time to show off his talent.
There are so many aspects of his game that he excels in, and we know which ones he has to work on.
“But, as always, with any player, it’s about giving support,” Arteta added. “Especially when you see a player do what he does every day and the way he tries and applies himself.”

According to a Spanish newspaper, the La Liga heavyweights are considering their options for the forthcoming January transfer window and have identified the Arsenal duo as prospective targets.
Barcelona’s strategy is based on the expectation that the market would offer more opportunities in January, similar to how they obtained Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo on loan this summer.
They believe that players who were previously’star signings’ may become available for a reduced price, and Jorginho and Havertz suit that description.
Arsenal paid €11.3 million to sign Jorginho from Chelsea (then valued at €35 million, now valued at €25 million) and €75 million to recruit Havertz (then and now valued at €55 million).
